Job Description – This is a full time, salaried position providing first level technical support for our clients. This position will require working in partnership with our clients by advising them how to use information technology to meet their business objectives or overcome problems. Our Technology consultants work to improve the structure and efficiency of business IT systems.

 

Typical Day to Day Activities – The day to day activities of this position will include but are not limited to the following:

·         Responding to support calls and trouble tickets from clients

·         Reviewing daily event logs for client servers

·         Troubleshooting servers, workstations, printers, switches, routers, etc…

·         Advising clients on options for technology decisions

·         Configuring, installing, and supporting Client/Server networks and Peer to Peer Networks

·         Cabling (limited)

·         Defining scopes of projects as well as project management

·         Clarifying client’s system specifications, understanding their work practices and the nature of their business

·         Travelling to client locations as well as working remotely

·         Preparing and providing requested information and documents to clients

 

Requirements

·         Microsoft Certified Professional or Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer preferred

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Information Assurance, Computer Science  ( equivalent industry experience will be considered in place of formal education)

·         2 - 5 years experience with network, server platforms, storage, mail systems, and backup configuration, support, and administration roles

·         Ability to configure, troubleshoot, and support Microsoft  Exchange, IIS, Windows 2003/2008, SQL, Active Directory, network devices (Cisco ASA/PIX and SonicWall products, load balancers, firewall and VPN devices), network concepts (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP), storage, servers, desktops (XP, Vista, Windows 7), and backup solutions (NAS or SAN)

·         Must maintain a valid driver’s license and insurance coverage

·         Must be willing and able to provide personal transportation to and from client locations (mileage will be reimbursed at the federal mileage rate)

·         Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds

·         Must carry a Smart Phone with unlimited data plan (will be reimbursed for data plan and minutes)

·         Must be a self motivator who is capable of scheduling and maintaining client appointments and meetings

·         Must be team oriented

·         Must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

·         Must maintain a professional demeanor at all times

·         Must be self motivated and be able to work with minimum supervision

·         Will be required to enter  detailed descriptions of time worked into our ConnectWise PSA system

·         Must pass a basic background check and drug screening

·         Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule including some weekends, evenings and holidays
